Facilities
Platt College provides a classroom environment
that closely simulates that of industry. Classrooms and labs are spacious,
air-conditioned and furnished with equipment, which meets industry standards.
The schools provide computers, and current software applicable for each
career offered. Dental operatories include dental chairs, delivery systems,
x-ray machines as well as a variety of instruments and equipment. Medical
and hospital labs include electric hospital beds, exam tables, EKG machines,
microscopes, manikins, venipuncture arms, and a mock operating room. Students
have access to the school's libraries, and Internet. Parking is available,
as well as accommodations for disabled students. For the Culinary Art program,
students have access to state-of-the-art kitchens, a bakery, and a working
restaurant. With that objective in mind, the maximum student to teacher
ratio in a class is 20 to 1 in a laboratory setting of instruction; 60
to 1 in a lecture based classroom. The Surgery Technologist program has
a student-teacher ratio of 12-1 in the laboratory setting.
The ratios in the labs at the Platt North Campus are 25 to 1.
