Surgical Technologist

The Surgical Technologist program is designed to provide students with the foundation and principles in basic sciences and subjects unique to the operating room. The program is designed for students interested in becoming part of an integral team of medical practitioners that provide surgical care to patients in a variety of settings.

Consisting of lectures, labs and clinical hours, this program is accredited with The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. This accreditation allows graduates to sit for the National Certifying Exam for Surgical Technologists.

Graduates will perform entry-level duties in a variety of areas which may include hospital settings, ambulatory surgery centers, central supplies, labor and delivery areas, cardiac catheterization laboratories, physicians' offices, and other areas where invasive procedures are performed.

The length of the Surgical Technologist program is 10.25 months and consists of 1110 clock hours and 70.60 quarter credit hours.

Offered at the Central OKC campus only.

The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges requires schools to round quarter credits down to the nearest half number.  Therefore, 70.50 quarter credit hours are recognized by the ACCSC for the Surgical Technologist Program.
