Associate of Science in Respiratory Care

The Respiratory Care program at Platt College is designed to prepare the student to work professionally as a vital member of the healthcare team.  The program combines academic work, clinical rotations at area hospitals, and physician contact opportunities.  This program will prepare the student for an exciting, rewarding career as a Respiratory Therapist.

Upon successful completion of the Respiratory Care program, the student will receive an Associate of Science degree in Respiratory Care.  The student will then be eligible for the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) exams, both the entry-level exam for a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), and the advanced-level exam for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).  Based on the certification level achieved, the graduate will be qualified to work as an entry-level or advanced-level Respiratory Therapist.

The length of the Associate of Science in Respiratory Care is 11.5 months and consists of 1590 clock hours and 114 quarter credit hours.
