Surgical TechnologistThe Surgical Technologist program is designed to provide students with a foundation in the basic sciences and subjects unique to the operating room. The program is designed for students interested in becoming part of an integral team of medical practitioners that provide surgical care to patients in a variety of settings. The program consist of 700 didactic hours and 420 clinical hours. Platt
College has received accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation
Of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) by recommendation from
The Association of Surgical Technologist. Upon successful completion
of the program, graduates will be eligible to sit for the National Certifying
Exam for Surgical Technologists. Graduates will perform entry-level
duties in a variety of areas such as hospital settings, ambulatory surgery
centers, central supplies, labor and delivery areas, cardiac catheterization
laboratories, physicians' offices, and other areas where invasive procedures
are performed.This program is currently offered at the following campuses only: Tulsa and Central OKC. |
